Nintendo Switch
Childhood doesn’t stop when a patient is admitted to Cook Children’s. Because we use play as a means to healing, video games are part of our care. They are also great distraction tools that make treatments and procedures a little easier.
Cook Children’s has a limited number of Nintendo Switch gaming systems for patients to use during lengthy out-patient appointments as well as short and prolonged stays of hospitalization. They can provide distraction, help relieve stress, and promote relaxation prior to a procedure. Playing video games gives children and teens a sense of normalcy and control in a situation where they don’t have much of either.
DONATE TODAY to help provide more Nintendo Switch units for our patients to use. Your gift will not only brighten a child’s day, but it will also play an important role in their treatment.
