The Tribute Walk is a way to honor, celebrate and remember patients during The Blast. These complimentary signs are a precious reminder of why we do what we do at Cook Children’s.
The signs recognize our angels, fighters and survivors and include the child’s photo, name and diagnosis. Tribute signs can be personalized or provided blank. All personalized signs require a parent or guardian to complete photo release and HIPAA consent forms online. Once the forms are completed, you will be prompted to fill out your sign and submit your photo. Families may pick up and take home their signs after the walk.
We are excited to host The Blast 2022 at a brand new venue, Panther Island Pavilion! This year’s walk features two route options, shown below. The Blast is not a timed event, and participants are encouraged to reflect and engage with other team members along the walk.
Participants can pick up their t shirt and walk bib at The Blast registration tent on April 2. If you’ve registered as a participant but can’t attend on April 2, email Mission Control at TheBlast@cookchildrens.org. Participants may sign up on the morning of April 2 until 10:00 a.m. at the registration table.

- 8:00 am Packet pickup and registration begin
- 9:00 am Opening program begins; Walk will begin directly after program
- 10:45 am Team awards presentation
- Plan to enjoy complimentary food and fun provided by our generous sponsors until 11:30 am
If you can’t walk with us at Panther Island Pavilion, there are still ways to join in on the fun. Print a walk bib and gather your family and friends to walk wherever you are! Be sure to take pictures and tag The Blast on social media, using #blastawaycancer.
