Cara Young Fish For Life Tournaments

On January 12, 2008, at the young age of 23, our daughter Cara Young won her long battle with cystic fibrosis and went home to be with our Lord and Savior.

Cara Young Fish For Life Tournaments began as a fishing tournament to help raise funds for Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas in Cara's memory. She spent many weeks at Cook Children's during her short life and the care she received was amazing. For the first few years, the money was donated to Cook Children's greatest needs program, which is designed to help those families who are struggling financially.

Later, we worked with Cook Children's to help kick off a new food card program. This program is for the families of children who have CF and are in the hospital for testing or other issues. Their stay could be as long as 2-3 weeks. The food cards enable them to purchase food at several of the eateries located inside

Cook Children's. They named the cards "CARA CARDS" after our daughter.

In our continued support of Cook Children's, we do an annual hospital visit bringing toys, t-shirts and rods & reels; attend Camp Kindred to assist with the fishing activities; hold an annual teddy bear drive for Cook Children's Prayer Bear ministry and host fundraising events.

Please join us in our efforts to raise the much needed funds for

Cook Children's. Your donations are sincerely appreciated.
